Free Autodesk Model Checker Configurator for Revit Gets a Wizard Interface for Creating Checks

Here on Revit Add-ons, we're fans of the free Model Checker and Model Checker Configurator developed by CADD Microsystems in collaboration with Autodesk. In fact, about a year ago, we wrote a product review about them.

The main nit that we had to pick with the Configurator was that creating working configurations was relatively complex and required significant trial and error. However, we'd been told that a wizard interface for creating checks was coming. Well, the wizard interface is available in the latest version of the Configurator.

From the BIM Interoperability website:

The Wizard has a simple consistent interface, allowing you to go back through the creation process, or even start over from the beginning if necessary.

The first question is what kind of check you want to make, either a General Check or an Element Check (see below). Depending on your selection, you will be given a series of other questions. When the Wizard has enough information from you, you will be asked if you want to finish and name your check, or continue adding to it. Adding a filter, will continue to refine the criteria you have already created. Adding another filter group will create a separate collection of filters that is collected under the same check as before, but has its own criteria.

Once the check is complete and you finish, you can not return to the Wizard. All follow-up work and changes must be done through the Advanced Interface.

The Autodesk Model Checker Configurator for Revit is brought to you by CADD Microsystems and Autodesk. It's free.

The Configurator is a standalone desktop application and is not tied to a specific version of Revit. The 'client' Autodesk Model Checker for Revit add-in is compatible with Revit 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, and 2013.

There's more information available on the BIM Interoperability Tools website.
